Etudes a Deux
Etudes a Deux is a series of 12 progressively difficult trombone duets, designed for an instructor and a student.
The duets explore various aspects of 20th century techniques: 5/8 meter, irregular divisions of 4/4, changing meters, etc.
For four of the duets, the first part is in the tenor cleft. Reverse slide-rips and the use of the Harmon mute, with its wa-wa function are demonstrated in the last two.
